Graduation Blues

This sucks.

It's still weeks before college but I'm already missing high school.

I find it difficult. Graduation blues really hit me. I can't imagine that we will be going on separate ways. Different schools. Different courses. Different classes. Different friends. Different world.

I'm getting too sentimental. So not me. Why do I have to meet you? Then lose you afterwards. I know this may not seem as it is now. But I know it would be. It is a part of the process.

I can't seem to get over our "formal" graduation. Heavens! I wonder what "bespren" DIGS and "kumareng" BAI ZENY thought about it. A GraduationslashRave party. The three hours of practice EVERYDAY went over the window. Not to mention the standing ovation for Mojado, Gumbila, Papot and the others. And they had the NERVE to shake hands with the officials! Tsk.

And wait. I thought we would be crying? Graduation eve, everyone was sending this message that we MUST cry. That it is a different feeling to see everyone in white togas. Ha! Did ANYBODY cried? Everyone was busy chatting and giggling. Unaware that this would be the last day that we could be together.

Anyway, Angelle's speech got me teary-eyed. It was really HARD to believe that it has been four years ago since we first had our step on this institution. And now, we are gonna part again. To stray along our chosen path.

I often wish I could freeze time. It goes by TOO fast. I can't keep up.

As I'm writing this post, I'm listening to the "GRADUATION SONG" by VITAMIN C. I remember how we all smugged when Ma'am Riños insisted the song Journey.

But really. If you would look at it now. What a journey it really has been. And the end is not in sight. But the stars are out tonight and they're bound to guide our ways. When they're shining on our lives, we could see a better day. I won't let the darkness in. What a journey it has been.

And one thing.

The Graduation Song (FRIENDS FOREVER)

And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives
Where we're gonna be when we turn 25
I keep thinking times will never change
Keep on thinking things will always be the same
But when we leave this year we won't be coming back
No more hanging out cause we're on a different track
And if you got something that you need to say
You better say it right now cause you don't have another day
Cause we're moving on and we can't slow down
These memories are playing like a film without sound
And I keep thinking of the night in June
I Didn't know much of love, but it came too soon
And There was me and you, and then it got real blue
Stay at home talkin' on the telephone and
We would get so excited, we'd get so scared
Laughing at our selves thinking life's not fair
And this is how it feels

As we go on, we remember
All the times we had together
And as our lives change,
From whatever
We will still be, friends forever

So if we get the big jobs and we make the big money
When we look back now, will that joke still be funny?
Will we still remember everything we learned in school?
Still be trying to break every single rule
Will little brainy Bobby be the stockbroker man?
Can Heather find a job that won't interfere with her tan?
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly
And this is how it feels

La, la, la, la; yeah, yeah, yeah
La, la, la, la, we will still be friends forever
Will we think about tomorrow like we think about now?
Can we survive it out there? Can we make it somehow?
I guess I thought that this would never end
And suddenly it's like we're women and men
Will the past be a shadow that will follow us round?
Will these memories fade when I leave this town
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly

Graduation is only the start of the end. Good Luck!
